Vivian was a graduate of Fenger High School in Chicago. She dedicated 26 years of service to the Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital before retiring. Retirement, however, was not the end of her journey, but the start of a delicious new chapter. Driven by her lifelong passion for food, she pursued and earned a degree in Culinary Arts from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.
Rather than working in commercial kitchens, Vivian chose to put her professional culinary skills to use where they mattered most: in the service of others, becoming a professional caregiver at Comfort Keepers. She filled the homes of her clients and her family with love, comfort, and extraordinary home-cooked meals and baked goods.
Vivian also possessed talent for performance and theatre, performing at the Illinois Theatre Center in Park Forest during the 1980s.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen (Joe Gentile) and Colleen King; grandson, Justin King; brother, Allen Rosko (Margie Dolosich); goddaughter, Suzanne Vestuto; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother, Balbina (Nawracaj), father Stanley, sister Evelyn (Stanley Cedzidlo) and brother Thomas (Zita Mikulskis).
Per her prearranged wishes, Vivian will be cremated through the Neptune Society. The family will host a private celebration of life at a future date.
