Virginia Louise Reisner

Virginia L. “Ginny” Reisner (née Stift) At rest on August 3, 2026, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of 51 years to Don R. Reisner, with whom she shared a lifetime of devotion, adventure, and unwavering partnership.

Dearest sister of the late Patricia (Kenneth) Mulsoff and Barbara (George) Rourke. Though Ginny never had children of her own, she poured her heart, wisdom, and boundless love into the lives of her 13 nieces and nephews, who were truly her world. She never missed a birthday, a graduation, or a Sunday dinner, and she took immense pride in every one of their achievements and passions.

Born May 13, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Virginia (Crowe) Stift, Ginny graduated from St. Scholastica High School, Chicago in 1956 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago in 1960. She began her career as a proud nurse, where her compassion and skill touched countless lives. From 1966 to 2002 she was an educator, union negotiator and Assistant Dean at Triton College, shaping future generations of nurses with her deep knowledge, patience, and dedication.

Ginny’s passions were as vibrant and varied as her spirit. She loved sailing, skiing, and traveling with her loyal and devoted husband. A gifted artisan, she found joy in jewelry making, beading, weaving, sewing, and sharing her talents with others. For more than 40 years, she served on the Board of Directors and volunteered tirelessly at Graue Mill in Oak Brook, Illinois, teaching and demonstrating her craft with enthusiasm and generosity. She was also a proud member and supporter for over 30 years of the Women’s Journey in Fiber, Illinois Prairie Weavers Guild, Weavers Guild of the North Shore, Fine Line Creative Arts Center and contributed annually to the Uncommon Threads show and various other art shows with her exquisite beadwork and one of a kind creations.
