

Rudolph Arthur Boehm, 85, passed away on October 9, 2024, in Naperville, Illinois. Born on August 31, 1939, Rudolph dedicated his life to a variety of professional and personal pursuits that reflected many diverse interests and talents.
Rudolph graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School in 1957 and furthered his education at College of DuPage. He built a robust career, starting as a draftsman at Western Electric, then as a design engineer at International Harvester, and later as a CAD designer at Lab Line Instruments.
An active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Rudolph was deeply involved in his community. His hobbies included long-distance running, singing with the DuPage Chorale, and serving as the President of the Rod & Gun Club at Downers Grove Moose. Rudolph was also passionate about classical music, gardening, automobile and home repair, opera, and particularly the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Gilbert & Sullivan, and Shakespeare. His favorite movies starred John Wayne. Rudy and Jeanne belonged to a church group they called “the rowdies” and they were devoted to all their friends from their Marriage Encounter group, but above all, they loved being actively involved parents and grandparents.
Rudolph is survived by his daughters, Heidi Monteith (Michael) and Laura Boehm; sons, Steven Boehm (Rosslyn) and Michael Boehm (Irene); grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Becky), Cyrus Johnson (Jaidan), Roxane Johnson, Nalani Johnson, Paula Boehm (William), Nick Boehm, Robert Boehm, Richard Boehm, Frank Boehm, Joy Gregory (Dean) and Nathan Boehm; and his brother, Robert Boehm (Andrea). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jeanne Carroll Boehm, his sister Loretta Snyder, and his parents Arthur and Paula Boehm.
A service to celebrate Rudolph's life will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515, on Saturday, October 19th, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11 AM, followed by the service from 11 AM to noon. A memorial reception will be held from noon to 2 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mooseheart Child City & School, Inc. Mooseheart Illinois 60539 in memory of Rudolph. His legacy of vibrant community involvement, dedication to his family, and diverse interests will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
