Ronald Charles Schwinnen

Ronald C. Schwinnen, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, in Joliet, Illinois. He was born on August 3, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, and was a longtime resident of Crest Hill, Illinois.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia (Bolos); his daughter, Linda Lee Schwinnen; his son, Mark Schwinnen; and his stepsons, Corey and Jason Hartell. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Scarlett. Additionally, he is survived by his nephew, Scott Romanosky (Amy), and twin great-nieces, Dana and Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Eleanor (Andreason) Schwinnen, and his sister, Arlene Romanosky.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Ronald later became the owner and operator of Bressler's Ice Cream Shop in the Jefferson Street Joliet Mall for 15 years. He then spent 25 years working at Honda of Joliet before retiring. A devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and White Sox, he also enjoyed playing golf with friends.

Ronald's memory will be cherished by those who knew him. Interment services with military honors will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois, at a later date.
