Roger McMurray, 69, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Northwestern Hospital after complications from medical conditions. He is survived by many devoted and loving friends from coast to coast. Roger was a valued employee of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Chicago as a supervisor in the Single Family Housing Department and an Urban Planner in Community Planning and Development (CPD). He served city and regional planning organizations with advice and guidance in many areas of Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin in his career at HUD for more than 34 years until his retirement in 2005. During his lifetime, Roger traveled extensively to spend time with his friends whom he referred to as "family." He volunteered regularly at an area hospital comforting premature babies and at the Ronald McDonald House assisting families of children with chronic illnesses. Roger was a member in good standing of Trinity United Church of Christ which he dearly loved. He will be cremated and his final resting place will be at sea in California.
