Robert Dayle Senti

Robert Dayle Senti, age 82, of Downers Grove, IL, passed away on August 28, 2025. He was born April 12, 1943, in Jewell Township, Kansas, to Harold and Gertie (Folger) Senti. Bob grew up on the family farm near Downs, Kansas, with his three older brothers and younger sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gary, Larry, and Gale Senti.

At the age of 17, Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force. After scoring high on language aptitude tests, he was sent to Yale University to study Mandarin and later served in Taiwan during the Cold War, where he also earned the rank of black belt in judo. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Dordt College in Iowa, where he earned his teaching degree, and later completed a master’s degree at Northern Illinois University.

Bob devoted his career to Timothy Christian Schools, where he taught for 36 years. Over the years, he taught Bible, computer, and history at the junior high level, and later taught woodshop, CAD, architectural drawing, basic technology, and carpentry in the high school. He also served as a sports coach for many years, mentoring countless students both in and out of the classroom.

A man of strong faith, Bob served as an elder and worship leader at Fountain of Life Church. He enjoyed building and fixing, gardening, crafting projects, and making homemade applesauce. Known for his dry sense of humor, he also had a generous heart for giving and serving, taking part in many mission trips. As a master carpenter and woodsman, he not only built his own home but also helped construct and remodel many houses and decks for others.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Eve; his children, Rachel (Mark) Loerop and Robbie Senti; grandchildren Aleisa, Xavier, Tessa, and Dakota Loerop; and his sister, Karen (Senti) Clavadetscher. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
