Regina C. Boland

Regina C. Boland, 92, of Matteson, IL formerly of Riverdale, IL passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Lemont Center. Loving mother of Bridget (Ed) Riley, Pete (Beth), Pat (Becky) and Theresa Boland; cherished grandmother of Eamon (Kelsey), Fiona, Maeve, Seamus, Allison, Kyle, Sydney and Finn. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas J. Boland; her parents, Marie and Peter Brosnan, and her siblings, Jerry (Kay), Cyril and Monna (Rudy) Habicht.

Regina was a graduate of Little Company of Mary Nursing School and worked as a proud nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park. She went on to work at Thomsen Clinic in Dolton where she fulfilled her passion for patient care while lovingly raising her family. As a parishioner of Queen of Apostles in Riverdale, she was an active volunteer in her children’s school, where she made lifelong friendships.

Famous for her wry sense of humor, Reggie brought smiles and laughter to those around her, including her patients, many friends, and family members. A devoted grandmother, she enjoyed attending countless extracurricular and sporting events. She developed deep and personal bonds with each of her 8 grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL 60423.

Regina’s family would like to thank LC Willow hall’s favored caregivers who dared to enter the “lion’s den” and partake of her unique sense of humor, treating her like their own mother. A special thanks to her loyal and steadfast visitors, Peggy, Kathy, Tracy, Mary Beth, Bobbie, Laura and Rob who made sure her days were filled with fun and her favorite snacks!
