It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Grupp. He passed on February 4, 2024 at his beloved home which he had once shared with his wife, Donna. He is at peace and again together with the love of his life in their eternal home. He passed on his own terms in the place that made him happiest. He was never the same when Donna left this life. One of Ralph’s favorite things to do was carry around pictures of Donna. He would always tell everyone how beautiful she was and how much he loved her.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father, William and his mother, Ilse. Ralph and Donna left behind two daughters, Kristine (Simon) Batterbee and Jennifer (Kyle) Keltner. Ralph had four grandsons, Nick (Danielle) Batterbee, Nathan Batterbee, Ethan (Yvette) Keltner and Griffin Keltner. Also left behind are his two brothers, Richard (Patricia) Grupp and Robert (Jan) Grupp, his sister-in-law, Joanne (Vic) Ryder, Brother-in-law, Phil Quill and many nieces and nephews. In addition to family, Ralph also left behind countless friends including his extra special friends, Ken and Brian, whom he considered family. Most of his friends he had known for the majority of his life which speaks volumes to his character.
He was a very proud American. He possessed a wicked sense of humor and loved to tell a good joke or story. They weren’t always necessarily appropriate but funny indeed. He had many careers and jobs that he always excelled at. He was most proud of his job at Pyramid Cabinets as a top salesman and designer. It suited him best as he was a talented craftsman and woodworker. Ralph was well known for being able to build any type of furniture out of anything. It was always overdone and sturdy as he only did things “the German way”.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life in the spring. Details are to follow. Please reach out to any family member for further information or to share a story or memory about our Dad, Papa, brother and friend.
