Penny, born on July 16, 1949, in the vibrant city of Pittsburg, gracefully departed this world on June 30, 2026, after bravely battling liver and kidney disease. Her final moments were spent in peace, surrounded by the love and warmth of her loved ones.
For 25 years, Penny dedicated herself as a steadfast letter carrier at the Oak Park Post Office. Her commitment and service touched the lives of many, ensuring that community connections were maintained through the simple act of delivering mail. Her work was not just a job, but a testament to her reliability and caring nature.
Penny was a woman of many joys, one of which was the comfort of a Starbucks or Dunkin drink. Whether rain or shine, you could always find her with a cup in hand, savoring the simple pleasures of life. Her sense of humor, though often questionable, never failed to bring laughter and light to those around her. And when the music played, her dance moves were both unique and memorable, a true expression of her spirited personality.
Family was the cornerstone of Penny's life. She is survived by her beloved daughter Jennifer and cherished grandchildren, Cheyenne and Peyton. Her legacy of love extends through her many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of cousins in Minnesota. Her friends and extended family will forever remember her warmth and infectious joy.
Penny had a special request for her departure: a celebration of life rather than a traditional funeral. In her honor, a gathering will be held on August 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Irish Times Pub and Restaurant, located at 8869 Burlington Ave, Brookfield, IL 60513. She wished for a party filled with laughter and stories, where black attire is left behind. Instead, attendees are encouraged to wear Cubs/Bears gear or bright, fun colors that reflect the vibrant spirit Penny carried with her throughout her life.
While Penny's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit and the joy she brought to those she loved will remain in our hearts forever. Let us celebrate her life with the same warmth and humor she shared with the world.
