Patricia A Stodola

Patricia (Pat) Anne Stodola, aged 80, of Hinsdale, IL, passed away at Hinsdale Hospital on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 with her loving partner, Randy, at her bedside. Pat was born on February 23, 1945 in Menominee, Michigan to parents Francis Nesbitt and Sara Rose (Raboin) Stodola.

Pat grew up in Daggett, Michigan and was educated through public schools and graduated from Stephenson High School in 1963. She then worked for two years in Chicago before attending Michigan State University from which she graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduation, she moved to Chicago, IL to begin working.

Pat went to work for a Chicago mortgage bank where she met the love of her life, Randy Cundall. While working there, many life-long friendships were formed. She continued to work in the mortgage servicing industry for several years. After leaving mortgage servicing, she worked as a legal secretary for a Chicago law firm until her retirement in 2014.

While living in Chicago, Pat attended art school. She was a brilliant artist, working in mediums such as oils, pencil, charcoal, and other mediums. Her work matched that of a professional. She proudly displayed her work in her home. She and Randy enjoyed over 50 years together. Pat loved to play card games with relatives and friends. She also loved to play Solitaire on her computer. They traveled to visit family and friends, went to golf tournaments, and visited various casinos throughout nearby states.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James F. Stodola; and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her niece and nephew, Stacey L. Stodola and James D. Stodola; sister-in-law, Sandy Stodola; several cousins and their families. She also leaves behind her partner, Randy Cundall; close friends Kim Miggenburg and Rita Whitehouse; as well as other friends including Randy’s family members. She was a wonderful friend, conversationalist, and hostess. Pat will be greatly missed by all and leaves so many memories to cherish forever.
