Patricia Nardella, 86, passed away quietly and unexpectedly on Friday, July 24 in her Chicago Heights home. Pat was with loved ones when she died. She is survived by her son John and daughters Elizabeth and Deborah Rezanka (Todd Bredeweg). She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband Robert Nardella. She is also survived by her grandchildren through marriage Nathan and Trevor Casey (Lori and Tim Casey) and Dominic, Gianna and David (DJ) Nardella (Jodi and David Nardella). She is also survived by a brother Richard and sister Audrene Welch. Pat and Bob were avid gardeners who enjoyed planning, planting and harvesting their garden. Both were members of the Park Forest Garden Club. A crafty woman in the best sense, Pat also sketched, painted, sewed, did needlepoint and enjoyed a wide variety of other crafts. Many of her creations are still on display in her home. Before retirement she worked as a switchboard operator, receptionist, dispatcher and was a small business owner. She ran a dry-cleaning/tailoring business and a shopper-style newspaper which she recruited advertisers for and designed by hand. She was also a member of Mensa. Late in life she developed Alzheimer’s but always maintained a gentle, loving and cheerful disposition. She will be missed by those who loved her. Friends and family will gather in her home for an informal get-together to celebrate her life.
