Patricia Alice Joseph

Patricia was born August 5, 1948 in Alexandria, VA to Clarence G. and Paulette L. (Villeneuve) Hatmaker, eldest child of four. The family moved to Illinois in the 1950s, Trisha graduated from Downers Grove Community High School in 1966 and attended College of DuPage near its inception in 1967, before there were actual buildings. Classes were held in trailers.

Patricia married Donn M. Joseph in 1971 and is survived by him and their two children, son Benn (Nathalie) Joseph, their children, Caro (16) and Solenn (12), and daughter Julie (Mike McPhail) Sandine and her children Sean (15) and Noah (13). She is also survived by her siblings John E. "Ted" (Debra) Hatmaker, Jean E. "Bonnie" (Allen Shaffer) Sander and Nancy A. (Billy) Ristau, by three nieces: Kathryn, Anne and Jean and four great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patricia was an avid music lover and attended many fests and concerts over the years, held many positions in varied employments, but her greatest joy always stemmed from her family, her home and her friends. Should any she loved be in need, Trisha would always be willing to step in and help in any way she could.

A pillow she had given to one of her siblings reads, "I smile because you're my sister. I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it." It is treasured.

Patricia was cremated through the Neptune Society and a celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Le Jardin at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, IL.
