Patricia Lee Donovan

Patricia Lee (Woolman) Donovan, of Schaumburg, Illinois, born on September 4, 1923 in Republican City, Nebraska, to the late Opal Irene Gilbert and the late Orly Nelson Woolman, passed away at age 94 on February 1, 2018 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Patricia graduated from Amundsen High School in Chicago. Patricia's spouse was the late Howard John Donovan. Later, she was married to the late Edward Friend. She was preceded in death by her son, William John (Rhea) Donovan and sister, Barbara Jean Woolman. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ann (the late Lawrence) Sicher; son, James Joseph (Charlotte) Donovan; grandchildren, Susanna Leigh Donovan, Michael Lawrence (Sarah) Sicher, Zachary Donovan (Stacey) Sicher, Shane James Donovan, and Quinn Lawrence Donovan; and great-grandchildren, Molly Lawrence Sicher, Owen David Sicher, Elinor Ann Sicher, and Lucas William Salvatore. Pat loved ballroom dancing and danced regularly at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom in the 1940s where she met her future husband, Howard. Pat loved her family and her church, Our Saviour’s United Methodist, where she was a charter member. She loved the fellowship and most of all, singing with the chancel choir. Our memories of Pat will forever live in our hearts. A Life Celebration in honor and remembrance of Pat will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL, followed by a family visitation and luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Savior’s United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
