Pat’s lifelong passion for dance left an indelible mark on her community. She began teaching dance in her parents' basement on Jay Street in East Peoria before opening her own studio in West Peoria. Over two decades, she taught hundreds of students and hosted annual recitals at East Peoria High School. Affectionately known as “Miss Pat,” her influence extended far beyond her dance studio. Later in life, she brought joy to others by teaching line dancing and choreographing performances for local nursing homes.
A devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria, Pat worked in the church office for several years and was deeply involved in the church community. She also owned a health food store in Eureka and spent over a decade working in the activities department at Riverview Senior Living, where she was cherished by residents and staff alike.
Pat treasured time with family and friends. She and Bill enjoyed traveling together and fulfilled their dream of living in Fort Myers, Florida, from 2015 to 2022.
Due to her Alzheimer's progressing she spent the last 2 years living with her grandson Kyle, on the same street as her childhood home which was also across from East Peoria high school. Kyle cared for her full time, and her granddaughter Kayla also helped him care for her up until the day she passed. There were so many memories made and laughter had during those last two years and for that they are forever grateful for, but they are so happy they were able to be made while they cared for her. She was very loved by them and the memory of her will live in their hearts forever.
Cremation has been accorded arrangements by Neptune Society. A memorial service will be held at her church, First United Methodist in Peoria on Sunday, January 12th at 2 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service.
Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Peoria Ballet or to the Alzheimer's Association.
