Norma L Thorpe

Norma graduated from Edinboro University, with a degree in education. She worked as a contract specialist for the Small Business Association. She and her husband, David Thorpe were instrumental in the life of St. Thomas Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn, serving and volunteering for decades. She enjoyed many years at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Glen Ellyn, IL; her family is so thankful for the care and love they and the Lighthouse Hospice team gave her as she rested peacefully before being called to her eternal home with our loving God.

Norma is survived by her children, William Thorpe of Clinton Township, MI, Rebecca (John) Flood of St. Simons Island, GA, Dan Thorpe of New Hudson, MI and Mary (Robert) Acton of Geneva, IL; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald and David Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David P. Thorpe; daughter, Janet Louise Thorpe; sister, Margaret Ann Trautman; and brother, Duane Campbell.

Memorial Services for Norma will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn, 424 Forest Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
