In loving memory of Nathaniel, affectionately known as Nate or Reese, who entered this world on March 7th, 2003, at 4:44 PM, a cherished child to Nicole Evans and Aaron Scott. From the tender age of three, Nathaniel exhibited extraordinary intelligence, delving into the world of books with remarkable ease. He attended Skinner Elementary School and Jones College Prep High School. His intellect extended beyond academics, showcasing a profound musical gift that emerged early in his life.
Embarking on his musical journey at the age of 7, Nate initially embraced the violin before transitioning to the Viola. He became an integral part of various musical ensembles, including the Hyde Park Youth Symphony, Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative, and the Musical Arts Institute. This passion for music accompanied Nathaniel through his college years, where he pursued studies in music education at DePaul University, aspiring to become a music teacher.
Yet, Nathaniel's interests were not confined to academia and music alone. An avid enthusiast of video games and anime, Nate found joy in immersing himself in these digital realms, often spending late nights engaged in spirited gaming sessions with friends.
Tragically, in February 2023, Nathaniel was confronted with the devastating diagnosis of Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Undeterred, he fought valiantly against the relentless disease, demonstrating unwavering courage until the final moments of his battle on December 31st, 2023.
Left to cherish Nathaniel's memory are his grieving parents, Nicole, and Aaron, step-father Mario L. Williams, along with his grandparents “G Mama” Sonia Harvey, Annice Scott, and Ronald Evans, Aunts Kameko Evans and Jennifer Williams, and Uncle Darnell Williams. Additionally, he is survived by his step-siblings Jazlynn, Anniah, Jeremiah, and Leilani Williams, as well as his beloved little brother, Mario A. Williams. A multitude of cousins and friends, along with his cherished pet conure bird, Bento, also mourn the loss of this beautiful soul.
Nathaniel's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, forever remembered for his brilliance, musical talent, and the warmth he brought to the lives of those around him.
