

He was born to parents Robert Pryor and Dorothy Pryor, on May 5,1959 in Berwyn, Illinois. Mark graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Graphic Design. Mark worked for School Association Special Education Dupage County (SASED) as a Deaf Teaching Assistant for 18 years. Since Mark was 14 years old, he has participated in a deaf and hard of hearing hockey program known as AHIHA. Mark started as a player and then became a beloved coach and pillar within the AHIHA community dedicated to providing guidance to young players and fellow staff- all considered friends and family. His talent and determination paired with the support of his team accomplished a silver medal in 1975 playing for team USA in the World Winter Games for the Deaf in Lake Placid, New York.
He was married to the love of his life, Sharon Sue Martinovsky on April 9, 1994 until he became widowed April 26, 1999. Mark is survived by his son Blake A. Pryor and daughter Brooke A. Pryor and his sister Sandra Pryor-Nichol and husband William Nichol and their children Gina, Jorie, Bill, and Marley.
Mark was known for his artistic talent and his love for sports, especially hockey and baseball. He often shared his passion as he coached his children’s sports teams or by taking the family to Chicago Cubs or Blackhawks games throughout the years. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada where he was able to show his children the beauty of nature and togetherness as a family.
