Margaret (Marge) Ann Curran nee Popovits, aged 72, died on September 2nd, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Michael (Mike) Curran, who passed in 2018. She is survived by three children, Tim (Jenn), Joe (Steph) & Valerie (Eric Watt) and four grandchildren: Aliya & Kinsely Curran, Sophia & Katherine (Katy) Watt and sister Eileen Popovits. She was a much loved aunt to many.
Margaret was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1953 where she lived for many years with her sister, Eileen, and their parents Rudy and Caty.
She graduated from Maria High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1971 and then graduated from the Evangelical School of Nursing in 1974. She eventually went back to school and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lewis University in 2005.
Marge was a nurse for many years, eventually landing at Edward Hospital. Marge worked in NICU as a nurse, Nurse Manager and ultimately helped build the department up to a highly regarded care facility.
She married Mike in 1975 and they spent the next few decades together remodeling basements, raising children, and being the “cool house” for their kids' friends to hang out at before finally saying, “it is WAY too cold” and moving to Ocala, Florida in 2014. Marge returned to the cold and her children in 2021.
In addition to the three children of her own that she raised, Marge spent a large portion of her life acting as a mother figure to neighborhood kids, new nursing students and anyone else lucky enough to cross her path.
She loved her family deeply and was loved just as deeply in return.
Marge died due to complications from leukemia.
