Born in Harturhan, Austria, on November 8, 1947, Katherine lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and devotion to those she loved. She shared 56 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jack Taylor, building a family rooted in love.
Katherine dedicated her career to customer service, working for Wilton Enterprises and The Hartford Insurance Company. Following her retirement, she continued serving others by volunteering for many years with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, where her caring nature and willingness to help made a lasting difference in the lives of many.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid gardener, Katherine affectionately referred to working in her garden as "playing in the dirt." She loved reading, taking nature walks, watching hummingbirds, spending time with her dogs, and creating cherished memories with her family. She also never turned down a hot pastrami sandwich from Lemon Tree, one of her favorite treats.
Above all else, Katherine treasured her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Those who knew her will remember her as a thoughtful and generous woman whose gentle spirit and warm smile could light up any room. Her sweet soul touched countless lives, and her legacy of kindness will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Katherine is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jack Taylor; her children, Jennifer Obbish (Matt Komaniecki) and Joe Taylor (Sue); her cherished grandchildren, Kylie Obbish, Nick Obbish, and Nick McCue(Nicole); her beloved great-grandchild, Rowan McCue; her sisters, Rose Gringras and Marie McCalip; and her brothers, Steve Franc and Tony Franc, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and George Franc, and her brothers, Joe Franc and George Franc.
A Celebration of Life honoring Katherine will be held on Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive, Bolingbrook, Illinois. Family and friends are warmly invited to join Katherine's loved ones in celebrating her life and sharing memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Katherine's memory.
Katherine's love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the lives she touched will remain in the hearts of those who loved her forever.
