Judith “Judy” Kay Jerosky (née Tardif), 73, of La Grange Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2024 following a battle with cancer. She was born in 1951 to James and Helen Tardif and grew up in Park Forest, Illinois with her little brother James. She graduated from Rich Central High School in 1969 and married her beloved husband Kenneth Jerosky in 1970. She and Ken lived in Broadview, Illinois after some time with the Air Force in North Dakota.
Together with her husband, Judy loved participating in the Civil War reenactments where she met one of her dearest friends, Connie Fansler. She was an active member of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority and led a life of community service, volunteering with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House and the La Grange Park Community Caucus. Her faith was very important to her and she attended mass at St. Louise de Marillac Church.
Judy was extremely patriotic and passionate about supporting America’s veterans. She loved getting together with family and friends, laughing, and playing games. Judy enjoyed traveling and had adventures across the world with her fortunate travel companions to England, Mexico, Alaska, and everywhere in between, including many trips to Branson with her friend Vickie Bunting. She was a fan of classic movies and an avid reader who especially loved mysteries. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will be missed by many.
Judy is survived by her brother-in-law Robert Jerosky (Wendy), sister-in-law Janet Backensto, brother-in-law Walter Jerosky, nieces Jennifer Henaghan (Michael) and Heather Jamriska (Derek), nephew Joseph Tardif, and too many friends to count. She was predeceased by her husband Ken, brother Jimmy, and cherished pets Schnuck, Kitty, Lucky, Stormy, and Lightning.
Per Judy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. If you would like to make a charitable donation in her memory, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Disabled American Veterans, and PAWS Chicago were all near and dear to her heart.
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church located at 1144 Harrison Avenue, La Grange Park, Illinois. The interment of ashes will take place at Fairview Memorial Park, 900 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, Illinois following the Mass.
