Judith Lynn Dawson

Judy was born in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Edwin Denby High School and then attended George Williams College in Chicago, Il. It is there she met her late husband, David J. Dawson and married in 1966. They had two children together, Kenneth and Laura.

Judy went on to complete her Masters Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked for the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education prior to being hired as a school social worker for O’Neill Middle School in Downers Grove. Judy spent17 years at O’Neill before retiring.

Judy was passionate about working with the homeless and volunteered countless hours at a DuPage PADS Warming Center at her church, St. Luke Presbyterian in Downers Grove.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 5235 Fairview Avenue in Downers Grove, Il. A reception will be held immediately following the service.

Survivors include her son, Ken (Vicky); and granddaughter, Kailey; her brother Dan Sutherland (Susan) and a large extended family.
