In addition to his large family, many of his close friends considered him a father figure. He was also an avid gardener who relished sharing his expertise, plants, and vegetables with many and loved fishing, trips to Las Vegas, entertaining friends, being outdoors or in his workshop, and was a train enthusiast and lifelong Cardinals, Chicago, and Iowa sports fan.
Joe was involved in the community through the Westmont chapter of the Knights of Columbus where he was a fourth degree member and previous Grand Knight. He enjoyed the comradery and volunteerism and cultivated lifelong friends from this experience.
Joe will forever be missed and remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His zest for life can be summed up in his favorite saying:
“Every day is a good day; some days are just better than others.”
