I am so sorry to just hear of Jerry's passing.  He was a such a great guy.  So welcoming and kind to my entire family.  
And such a true friend to my brother Jimmy.  

We will always remember Jerry fondly.  
Please take care of yourself Delores.  You are a great lady!

Dolores, kids and family I am so sorry for Jerrys passing. The world lost a good kind man. Just know he will be watching, guiding, and occasionally cursing, all those he loved. Until we all are together again, rest in peace... You earned it brother.

It was always a pleasure to walk into the American Legion and see that Jerry was there. He was a genuine down-to-earth guy and had a way of making people feel comfortable. I don't think that the place will ever again be quite the same.
RIP Jerry.

I can't even begin to say how much the Fishback family was a part of my life. They made me feel like family for so many years, with inclusion  in their parties and events. Mr. Fishback always made sure to share a few words and thoughts with "Mikey McDermott". He had a quick sense of humor - so you had to pay attention. He was a Sox fan, so he always made sure to share a Cubs insult with me, just had to take it. Even with his dislike for the Cubs, he took my brother, John Gill, Kevin and I to a Cubs game...which had to be for me, since I was the only Cubs fan in the group.  So many memories from 167th, that go from  him crashing down their pool trying to hurdle in, to chasing down  cars that were speeding with us kids in front, to sharing a Budweiser or two when Kevin and I stopped in Teehan's to give him a lift. Just just  a ton of memories and stories that this site will not allow me to type. My whole childhood, teenage, early adult and all years that now lead to 52 have included Kevin being more than a best friend, but brother. Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Fishback, Lisa, Kevin, Danny and JR, his brothers and sisters, and all grandchildren and great-grandchildren that follow. We were blessed to be neighbors - Mick, Phil, Patrick, Kelly, Michael and Shannon McDermott

Dolores-Skip just let me know of Jerry’s passing and I wanted to extend my condolences and let you know that you’re in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.   Many years may have passed since I last saw you and Jerry, but it doesn’t erase the wonderful memories that I have of you both.

Dolores & your family, my sincere sympathy to your husband, Dad etc. Skip remembers when you met and all the great times together. 

So many wonderful memories of “Jay” and Lor We met in High School,stood up in each other’s weddings and raised our families together. But life happens and we moved farther apart,lost track of each other but always happy to see each other when the opportunity came along. My heart breaks for the whole family. Jerry has led an amazing life of service since his days at Mt. Carmel.  I and so many of his '65 classmates will be remembering him and his whole family in our thoughts and prayers.  God Bless you all.

My most sincere condolences.  Jerry was a ‘good guy.’  We started out in the same tract at MC so we shared classes.  He was. Always decent to be around and friendly to everyone e.

Dear Fishback Family 

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your father/grandfather/great-grandfather.   My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.  I'm sure he will be missed by many loved ones.

So sorry, Jerry,  that I have not seen you since Marie and I moved back to Chicago. Delores sat behind Marie at Vis and I recall you and Skip at Sunday night at the fights (dances) at St Sabina. I had been thinking of catching up with you and tried to get Rich Doyle to connect us with no luck . I remember giving Skip and you a ride home after one of the dances. You tried to dive into my 
Dad’s station wagon and the tail gate window was still up!
Miss you, brother.
