James Craig Schmidt

James C. Schmidt passed away at his Lisle, IL home after a long illness. He was the loving son of the late Ralph and Shirley Schmidt. He grew up in Downers Grove, IL and was a graduate of Downers Grove North High School. He enlisted in the Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War.

James is survived by his Sons Corey(Molly) Schmidt and Todd(Sarah) Schmidt; Grandchildren Sophia, Audrey, Mia, Josephine,Tyler, Luke and Dylan; Great Granddaughter Scarlet; Siblings Sherry, Mark(Marta), Michelle(Mike); and his Nieces and Nephews Sean(Lisa), Robert(Jen), Sheila(John), Nichole(Carlos), and the late Micah, Nathan(Amber), Miles, and Amber. His silly smile and smirk will be greatly missed.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Christian Church of Clarendon Hills, 5750 Holmes Avenue, Clarendon Hills IL on Wednesday August 29 from 10-11 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am. Jim will then be buried at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 Cass Avenue, Darien IL at 12:30 pm. A Luncheon will immediately follow for family and friends to remember times with Jim.
