Hugh P McGourty

Hugh Patrick McGourty, born on September 16th, 1943, to parents, Hugh and Virginia nee Hallinan McGourty. He grew up along with his sister, Mary Catherine, in Chicago IL. Hugh came to the end of his life’s journey on December 27th, 2024, at the age of 81. Hugh is survived by his loving wife Linda, their sons, Timothy and Christopher McGourty, his loving sister, Mary Catherine Pauritsch, her husband Michael Pauritsch, and also 5 nieces and 4 nephews.

Hugh graduated from Leo Catholic High School and continued his education at DePaul University where he excelled in computer science. He spent most of his career as a Systems Analyst for the Chicago Public School System and the State of Illinois University System. As their boys were growing up, Hugh loved camping with them and Linda as they traveled many places throughout the country. Hugh always enjoyed spending time with friends and extended family throughout his 51 years of marriage to Linda. Throughout his life, Hugh was faithful to our Lord, and through his faith, he lent spiritual and caring support to many people.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 10 am, followed by a memorial service at 11 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 330 W Highland Dr. Chicago Heights, IL. 60411, where we will thank our Lord for the blessing of Hugh in our lives and celebrate his eternal life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
