Herbert “Herby” Gizowski, age 89, passed away October 18, 2018 at Edward Hospital suffering complications from a severe stroke. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loretta Gizowski nee Martishius; his daughter, Mary-Ellyn (Frank) McCollum; and grandson, Nicholas McCollum; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the devoted son of the late John and Anna Gizowski; brother of the late Walter (Lillian) Gizowski, Helene (Gus) Lattyak, Marian (Benjamin) Miskovic, and Joe (Ann) Gizowski. Herby served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched. A committal service will begin on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 promptly at 10:30 am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL 60421.
