

Born on November 25, 1933, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Gail was a lifelong resident of Chicago Heights and Park Forest, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and community. A devoted Catholic, she found strength and comfort in her faith throughout her life.
Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Angelo Nardella; her mother, Mabel Donahue; her sister, Betty Smith; and her son-in-law, David Pallay.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Paula (Keith) Selk; her children, Sandra (David) Bachelder, Michael (Gail) Nardella, Susan Pallay, Karen (Mark) Merisko, and Kathy (Tony) Cordeiro. She also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren: Matthew (Renee) Bachelder, Melissa Bachelder, Joe & Lou Nardella, Adam (Lauren) Pallay, Holly (Chuck) Anderson, Drew Pallay, Anthony (Brooke) Merisko, Nicholas Merisko, and Kristin Lock; and 10 great-grandchildren, Joel, Payton, Sylvie, Nels, Angelo, Rosa, Leona, Robert, Max and Sabrina all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Gail worked for many years in the banking industry, where she was respected for her dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she found her greatest happiness with her family. She was an exceptional cook whose meals brought loved ones together, an avid reader who always enjoyed a good book, and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched everyone who knew her.
More than anything, Gail treasured time spent with her family. Her love, gentle spirit, and the countless memories created around the dinner table and at family gatherings will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those who went before her. Gail’s legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to her family will continue to live on through the generations she so dearly cherished.
In accordance with Gail’s wishes, private family arrangements have been made.
