On March 18, 1946 Fred Patrick Page was the third of 5 children born to Raymond and Jeanne Page in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Pittsburgh public schools, graduating from Schenley High School where he was actively engaged in Track and Field and Football. After graduation Fred attended college in Indiana, PA and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cheyney State College where he also played football and was a member of the track team. While at Cheyney, Fred pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and was proud to be a “Q”. After graduation Fred taught Math in the Pittsburgh Public School system and in 1969 he was hired by IBM Corporation where he continued to work until his retirement in 1999. Fred was proud of his career with IBM and treasured the relationships he formed with his IBM family. After retiring from IBM, Fred was a Substitute Teacher in DuPage County school system. Fred was a helper, the kind of person that others loved to be around and learned to appreciate. He was a warm, caring, loving, generous and friendly, God-fearing man who quietly and freely blessed others, enabling them to be their best. On November 6, 1971, Fred was joined in marriage to Yolanda Brown and lived nearly 46 years in a loving partnership with his best friend. In 1984, Fred and Yolanda were blessed with their only son, Fred Page, Jr., who has filled their lives with joy. Fred was a devout Christian and loved the Lord who called him home much too soon on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Fred was preceded in death by his father Raymond N. Page; his mother, Jeanne Audrey (Allen) Page and his sister Audrey Mauray (Tucker) Heywood. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda; son, Fred, Jr.; brothers, Raymond (Harriette), Stanley; sister, Robin E. Page; brothers-in-law, Ernest (LuAnne) Brown, William (Marita) Brown; sister forever, Jeannie (Arnie) Burns, Lifelong friend, Ann Fulton and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Sleep on Fred and take your rest. We all loved you but God loves you best. A Celebration of Fred’s life will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Abbington Banquets, 3 South 002 IL Route 53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
