Frank was born on January 17th, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Anthony and Bernice Mindak. Frank grew up in Chicago and attended Lane Technical High School. He served in the Armed Forces and is a World War II veteran.
On May 30, 1948, he married the love of his life, Helen Szydlowski. Together, they had four children, two sons, David and Dale, and two daughters, Amy and Dawn, and his bonus son, Jimmy.
Frank had an amazing sense of humor. He loved to make up quick witted rhymes and sing them with enjoyment. Road trips, camping jaunts and fishing with his sons were at the top of his list. If anyone, even a stranger, ever needed a helping hand, Frank would always be there to assist and support.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, his mother, Bernice, his two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Helen of 70 years, his four children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass & memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 at Ascension Catholic Church on 808 S. East Ave, Oak Park, IL 60304 at 9:45AM.
