Eloise A. Messmore of Oswego, Illinois, passed away on January 13, 2024 of natural causes at The Pearl at the Tillers in Oswego, Illinois. Eloise was born in Ottawa, Illinois on December 17, 1940 to John and Gertrude Perrot. Her sister JoAnne, was born three years later. Her parents were farmers in the area. She met her first husband, Wayne Messmore, while working at FS Supply and it was love at first sight. After Wayne’s death, she was lucky in love a second time, marrying LeRoy John Dobson in 1987.
Eloise and Wayne had two children, Kristine (Gregory) Larsen and Douglas (Tina) Messmore, who survive her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayla (Micah) Osbron, Lauren (Benjamin) Schultz, Lily Messmore and Grace Messmore, and three great grandchildren, Owen and Noah Osbron and Saylor Schultz. She is also survived by her sister, JoAnne (Harold) Thomson and her nieces, Lorye (Kevin) Postma and Lynette (Jeff) Laninga and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Messmore in 1982 and LeRoy John Dobson in 2013.
Eloise will be dearly missed. She was a wonderful, caring and positive influence in the lives of everyone she knew. She dearly loved all her family and her pet dog, Emily and pet cat, Kate. She enjoyed friendships she made with her neighbors and her sisters in HUGS, a women’s Christian support group. She loved reading and her book club.
She was a retired Deputy Clerk from the Kendall County Courthouse, and had previously worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant in Pizza Hut and Prudential Corporate offices. Eloise loved attending plays, orchestra concerts and all kinds of musical concerts. Her love of travelling had her planning her next greatest adventure on her way home from a trip. Arrangements were provided by Neptune Society. A private celebration of life will be held in the spring.
