Eddie was born on January 24, 1960, to Edward Walter and Marion Judith Wilk. He was the youngest of their four sons. He grew up in Hegewisch, a neighborhood on Chicago's far south side where he chose to remain throughout his life. Eddie was bright, loyal, dedicated and hardworking and thoroughly enjoyed his job in the metallurgy lab at Republic Steel Company. When the plant closed, he went to work for Acme Steel as an operator.
He was a whiz with computers and beta tested software for Microsoft. He also busied himself troubleshooting software issues for others.
But his real passion was music. He was a gifted guitarist and keyboardist. He had also become proficient in working with the complicated software program, Reaper, through which he was able to mix and digitally record music. When he was younger he enjoyed playing in a band with his brothers--not sure which he enjoyed more, the camaraderie of his brothers or the music.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert. He is survived by brothers, Ronald (Cheryl), and Thomas (Deborah), many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rest in peace, dear Eddie. We will forever hold you in our hearts and memories.
