Diane Estrin, nee Cantor, age 88 of Chicago, died peacefully in her sleep from complications due to kidney failure on August 13, 2017. Diane was the loving mother of Glen Estrin (Claudia), Mitchell Estrin, and Nancy Estrin Perlman (Jay). She was the proud grandmother of William Estrin and Matthew Perlman. Diane was the cherished sister of Jeanie Auslander. Diane was born in Pasadena, CA on April 17, 1929 to David and Thelma (De Casseras Alberga) Cantor. She moved to New York and later attended The Juilliard School of Music as a piano major. She moved to Chicago, where she received her master’s degree in Early Childhood Development from Northeastern Illinois University, and later a real estate license. Diane had a zest for life. In her retirement years she loved reading a good book, attending jazz and classical concerts, traveling, having new adventures, researching her geneology, enjoying the beauty of Lake Michigan, and being with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the staff of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and the Beacon Hill Health Center for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Advocate Charitable Foundation. www.advocategiving.org
