Christina Renae Mendez

Christina R Mendez, age 50, of Joliet, IL passed away suddenly on March 9, 2026 at Silver Cross Hospital. Christina was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL. She graduated from Joliet Central High School Class of 1994. She worked at Dominick’s for 11 years. She always had a big smile and was always willing to help with anything. She loved her family, her late cat Toby, Toby Keith, Hallmark channel and word search puzzles. She also had a deep love for animals and enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels out in the yard. Christina had been dealt many challenges throughout her life, and she met them with courage and grace. She was always a bright light, and she will be dearly missed.

Christina is survived by her mother Debbie Mendez as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Special heartfelt thanks to her wonderful team of caregivers Aunts- Linda Hahn, Connie Rose, Mary Jane Dolnak, Cindy Whitten, Doreen Mitchell, and Lynne Rinke, Uncle Danny Mitchell and her cousins Carla Whitten and Tim Rose.

Preceded in death by her Maternal grandparents Tom and Patricia Mitchell, Paternal grandparents Joe and Nicolina Mendez, Uncle Carl Mitchell, Toby her beloved cat, Father Frank Mendez, and other numerous family.
