Charles W Diddens

Our beloved father passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on February 17, 1937, he lived a life defined by his devotion to family, hard work, kindness, and integrity. He shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ruth, building a loving home and a legacy that will endure for generations.

He was the proud father of four children: Ruth, Chuck, Brian, and Heather. His family continued to grow and includes ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A dedicated provider, he believed in the value of hard work. He began working at just ten years old and continued until he was 83, demonstrating a remarkable work ethic and determination throughout his life. His commitment to caring for his family never wavered.

He was a true gentleman with a warm heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed driving, bowling, and golfing, and found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved old movies and television shows, enjoyed playing cards, followed politics with interest, and never minded an occasional trip to the casino.

More than anything, he will be remembered for the love he shared, the values he instilled, and the example he set. His life was one of dedication, perseverance, and kindness. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and who will cherish his memory forever.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. ❤️

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 209 North Pine Street, New Lenox, Illinois. A luncheon will follow immediately.
