Carmella D. Smith

Carmella “Carmie” Caputo Smith,84, of Lisle, IL formerly of Evergreen Park, IL was born June 6, 1941 and passed away July 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Smith; son, John Smith; parents, Frank Caputo and Agnes Cotiguala Caputo; brother, Jerry (Margie) Caputo. She is survived by her children, Sherrie (Jeff) Sabbath and Bill Smith; her grandchildren, Lindsy (John) Borneman, Andrew Fagerstrom, Emily (Scott) Nichols, Natalie (Ryan Lock) Sabbath, Walt (Lauren) Sabbath, Carly Carabine; great-grandchildren, Addison, Tyler, Mackenzie, Henry, Hailey, Ela and Walker; brother, Louis (Donna) Caputo.

Carmie lived her faith every single day. She worked as a school secretary in Evergreen Park, IL and she loved leading Bible study, oil painting, playing piano in her church praise band, good food,decorating her home, entertaining, spending time with family and travel.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of memorial service at 12:00 pm at Maranatha Chapel, 9755 South Pulaski, Evergreen Park, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Samaritan's Purse.
