Brian was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1954 to Robert and Jean (Montgomery) Rhoney. He graduated from Niles North High School, Skokie Illinois, in 1972. He then attended Northern Illinois University and received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in 1976 and earned his Certified Public Accountant license.
Brian met the love of his life, Carol Hartman, while both were students at Northern Illinois University. They married in 1978 and were proud parents of their daughter, Laura, and their son, Derek.
Brian loved all of his family and friends. Fond memories include: visiting the “Little Wrigley Field” and the Field of Dreams, the outer banks of North Carolina, both sides of Niagara Falls, Disney World, Cancun, Camping at Devil’s Lake Wisconsin every Fourth of July with the neighbors, and hosting/attending joyful family events.
He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and loved being their Papa; never failing to make them laugh with silly faces and goofy gestures or ordering them their favorite Happy Meals.
Brian practiced as a Certified Public Accountant and ran his own tax accounting firm for 36 years. He enjoyed the close relationships he was able to build with his clients.
He enthusiastically followed Chicago Sports and was a proud Chicago Cubs fan. He was an active member of the No Bats Baseball Club, whose members’ joy of baseball help support worthy charities and their causes.
He was proud to be a husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Brian’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
