Arlyce K. Snipes

Arlyce K. Snipes, age 97, of Palos Park, Chicago and Elgin, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. Loving aunt of Frank (Lynn) Graben, Larry (Kathi) Graben, Barbara (John) O'Connell and Jim (Nancy) Graben; great nieces and nephews, Jack (Rachel) O'Connell, Laura O'Connell, Becky (Marty) Strus, Joe (Theresa) Graben, Kyle (Dana) Graben, Mark Graben, David (Jess) Graben and Anna Graben; 7 great-great nieces and nephews; also survived by numerous cousins and her dear friends, Darlette Parsons, Christy Griskey and Michelle Ritacco.

Preceded in death by her husband John Snipes; parents, Esther and Rudolph Kobel; sisters, Lucille (Frank) Graben and Sharon Kobel.

She was very proud to be a lifelong member of St. Paul's UCC in Elgin where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Arlyce worked for cardiovascular surgeons as a secretary at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital (Rush) in Chicago. She was very involved with her family and coordinated the yearly family reunions. She was a beautiful, loving ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She was also known for her great sense of humor and she was always ready with a listening ear.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of memorial service at 11:00 am at Peace Memorial Church 10300 W. 131st St., Palos Park, IL 60464. Interment to follow at the Peace Memorial Church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's UCC in Elgin or Peace Village in Palos Park.
