Andrew Allen

Andrew Allen “Andy” “Drew” of Chicago, IL passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born on December 25, 1956 in Chicago, IL and grew up in Chicago as well as in Kentucky. He graduated from Taft High School in Chicago, IL. Andy was a Navy veteran and was actively involved in Bethany Baptist Church in Harwood Heights, IL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Gabbard; father, Robert Allen; brothers, Joe Allen and David Allen and sister, Faye (Joe) Rollings.

He is survived by his partner, Diane Dec; son, Andrew (Rachel) Gregory Allen; step-children, Jessica (Anthony) Trifilio and Tom (Carla) Dec; brothers, Oscar Allen, Steve (Bonnie) Allen and Charles Allen; sisters, Barbara (David) Blackenship Brown, Carlene Allen, Donna, and Beverly Jo; grandchildren, Castiel Allen, Barry Allen, Rose Mondragon, Madison Dec, Kiley Dec, Brooklynn Dec and Gemma Dec and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be private and a memorial service will be held at on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Bethany Baptist Church, 6700 W Gunnison St, Harwood Heights, IL 60706.

Andy loved watching all kinds of sports, and was an avid White Sox fan, Chicago Bears, and Blackhawks fan. He sure did love a good home-cooked meal. Most of all he loved anything Harley-Davidson. His motorcycle was his prized possession.

The family would like to thank all for the phone calls and support for Andy with words of encouragement and keeping him uplifted towards the end of his journey. We would also like to thank the Bethany Baptist Church congregation for being his spiritual support during his difficult last two years. We are truly grateful to all of you. Andy is now at peace.
