Walter Lee Todd III

Born in Martinsville, Virginia, Lee graduated from Pensacola High School in 1969. During his high school years, he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, May Belle. The two were married and shared a beautiful, inspiring journey of 54 years filled with deep devotion and endless support for one another.

In 1970, Lee answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. A proud Vietnam War veteran, he initially served with distinction as a K-9 handler within the Security Police—a role that sparked his lifelong devotion to dogs. Throughout his proud 23-year military career, Lee took on vital leadership roles, serving as an Air Force Recruiter and ultimately earning the distinct honor of serving as a First Sergeant. He retired from active duty in 1993.

Following his military service, Lee began a second career with the Florida State Attorney General’s Office, where he worked diligently as a paralegal until his eventual retirement.

Away from work, Lee’s greatest happiness came from simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending quiet hours on the water, and he always held a profound love for his family and his loyal dogs.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, May Belle Todd; his son, Stephen Todd (wife Donna); and his daughter, Tammy Tassitano (husband Brent). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Amber, Brendan, Everett, Emaleigh, Ryker, Emily, and Hailey, as well as his precious great-grandchildren, Malcolm and Molly.
