Vern was a homemaker throughout her life, she loved being in the kitchen and cooking up good southern meals with a side of cornbread. Everyone around knew how good her gumbo was and how much she enjoyed frying up Kody’s catch of the day. She spend days on end crabbing on Ford Street, catching crabs by the dozen and boiling them up as spicy as she could get them. Crawfish were a close second to crabs! The hotter the better! She loved being outside and soaking up the sun and spending hours working in the yard keeping up with her many plants and flowers. She enjoyed playing slots at the Casinto’s and talking on the phone to friends and family for hours. She was one of a kind and will be remembered for keeping us all in line. Despite life’s obstacles, death of her son and grandson, sickness and disease, she lived her life to the fullest and never gave up on doing things she loved. She will be missed by many.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life at a later time.
