Larry Neal Funk

Larry was born in Defiance, OH on July 19, 1947, to Neal and Geraldine (Gearhart) Funk. On July 14, 1973, Larry married his spouse of 51 years, Linda (Beck) Funk.

Larry proudly earned Eagle Scout status during his youth, as well as qualified for the national championship in cross country while attending Defiance College. Larry served in the US Navy as a Lt. Junior Grade from 1971 to 1972. Larry previously worked as a pharmacist for 30+ years. Following his retirement, Larry and his spouse relocated from Wauseon, OH to Orange Beach, AL. Larry was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Foley, AL. Larry was well-liked by his peers and enjoyed staying active. He especially reveled in playing golf and fishing on his boat. Larry treasured his role as a grandfather, hoping to one day teach his grandson how to fish. Larry also looked forward to his annual trips to Mexico, along with his spouse.

Larry is survived by his spouse, Linda Funk of Orange Beach, AL as well as their two children, Tricia (Jeff) Dunn of Nashville, TN and Ashley (Chris) Funk of Fort Worth, TX. Larry will also be missed by his older sibling, Ricki (Douglas) Mayes of Lakewood, CO as well as his young grandson, Rhys Dunn, and two step-grandchildren, Max Dunn and Natalie Dunn of Nashville, TN. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Geraldine Funk.

A celebration of life will take place for members of the family. The family asks that donations be made to The Retreat, Hospice by Saad in Mobile, AL in Larry's honor.
