Jacquelyn Shugart, 82, of Calera, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on February 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Jacquelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and matriarch who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
She was married for 63 years to the love of her life, Frank Shugart. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jacquelyn’s dedication to her family was unwavering. She embraced her role as a wife and mother with grace, strength, and an unbreakable commitment to those she loved.
As the matriarch of her family, Jacquelyn was the heart of their home. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of kindness, hard work, and perseverance. Her nurturing spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jacquelyn’s family includes her daughter Kelee Shugart and her children Joshua Garzarek [Hope], Jake Garzarek [Erin], Cody Garzarek [Tayler], Catie Garzarek along with grandchildren Jamison, Elias, Perri, Hazel and Merrit. Her son Roger Shugart and sons Eric Shugart, Nathan Shugart [Courtney] along with grandchildren Parker, Jaxon, Marli, Charlee, Finleigh, Lennox, and Ann Wilson. She has been reunited with her parents Jack and Allie Lisby and sister Carolyn.
Our family is truly grateful for two incredible humans, Annette Archie (her friend and neighbor) and Kayla Howard (her caregiver). The compassion, love and selflessness they showed “Mrs. Jacki” was easily extended to her and her family.
A memorial service to honor Jacquelyn’s life and legacy will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 2:00-4:00 p.m at Collectivus Church in Calera, AL.
Jacquelyn’s love and influence will continue to live on through the lives of those she left behind
