Harold Wayne Love, 90, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama. Known to most as Wayne, he was a steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him—offering wisdom, humor, and a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Born on November 10, 1935, in Library, Pennsylvania, Wayne grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility that would define his life. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was recognized with a citation for meritorious service—a testament to his dedication.
After returning home, Wayne began a long and respected career with the Pennsylvania-American Water Company in El Rama, Pennsylvania. Over the course of 30 years, he rose through the ranks to become Superintendent before retiring in 1994. Even while working full-time, Wayne devoted himself to farming his cherished 97-acre property—a place that brought him immense joy and where he instilled in his family the values of hard work and perseverance.
Wayne was deeply committed to community and fellowship. A proud member of the Masonic Lodge for nearly 70 years and also active in the Odd Fellows Lodge, he valued tradition and service throughout his life.
He was known for his mechanical aptitude and was always ready to lend his skills to help others. Whether fixing equipment or offering advice drawn from decades of experience, Wayne was a source of knowledge and support. His assertive confidence was matched by kindness and compassion; he had a routine he liked to follow but always made time for those who needed him.
Wayne’s greatest pride was his family. He shared 62 loving years with his wife Aileen. Together they raised three children: Thomas (Denise), Cindy (Jim), and Wendy (Henry). He was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren—Sean; Nathan, Nicholas, Thomas; and Shelby—each of whom benefited from his steady guidance and unwavering love.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Dean Love; and siblings Shirley, Robert, Sydney, Walter, Rae, Florence, and Elaine.
Wayne’s legacy lives on not only through his family but also through the countless lives he touched with his generosity of spirit and quiet strength. The world will not be the same without him.
May Harold Wayne Love’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
