Connie was born on December 2, 1939 in Birmingham, and grew up there. She graduated from Ramsay High School in January 1957 then immediately married her soldier fiancé, and moved with him to New York City for a time. She often laughed about her gypsy spirit in that she loved living in and exploring different areas. During her lifetime Connie enjoyed living in Florida where she loved the beaches, then in Georgia where she enjoyed living in the mountains, and returning in her final years to Alabama which she considered home. Connie raised her children, worked for a few years in banking, and spent time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, various crafts, and shopping. As a born again Christian who loved Jesus, she also spent time doing outreach ministry. Connie was also an avid gardener who surrounded her homes with beautiful plants and flowers, and she absolutely adored dogs of all breeds, especially her final dog, Bella, a dachshund she rescued.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Ginger (Eric) Gentzel, Michal (Jimmy) Moore, Robin (Randy) Handfield; grandchildren, Jennifer (Alan) Nauman, Nicole Moore, Johnathan (Laura) Moore, Alex (Karen) Felton, Jaci (Stephen) York, Mallory Felton, Mike Gentzel, Amie (Chris) Reid; great grandchildren, Mason (Madelyn) Moore, Jocelyn (Dakota) Stroud, Caleb (Katelyn) Moore, Avery (Sean) Thomas, Bailey Hobbs, Matthew Nauman, Katherine Moore, Jacob Moore, Helen Nauman, Chloe Felton, Hannah Moore, Davie Felton, Noah Moore, Harrison York, Levi Moore, Alannah Reid, Evie York, Andrew Moore, Ollie Reid, Callum York; great-great grandson Luca Thomas.
