It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cindy Marie Brannan, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us on the morning of Tuesday, October 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer.
Born on August 8, 1979 to Marie Covington and Richard Brannan
As a skilled Bookkeeper, she brought diligence and care to her work, but her true passion was found in serving her community and uplifting those in need. Cindy dedicated her life to helping others. She was the heart and soul of the local kickball league, where her enthusiasm and leadership brought people together and created lasting friendships. An avid supporter of South Alabama and Auburn Football and Softball, she found joy in cheering on her teams and sharing those moments with family and friends.
No matter how difficult her journey became, Cindy faced each day with her radiant smile and unwavering strength. Her resilience inspired everyone who knew her, and her kindness touched countless lives.
Her commitment to volunteering at a variety of different Cancer and non-cancer related events was a testament to her compassion. She cherished hearing the stories of survivors, offering hope and encouragement, and building a community of support.
Cindy was also a devoted pet parent to her cherished kitties, Nova and "Finn" Meow-Hard, whose playful companionship brought her comfort and joy throughout her battle.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Jeffery Smith; her son, Jason Covington Jr.; her stepson, Christian Smith; stepdaughter, Melody Smith; her sisters, Kristen Allen(Billy) and Jenny Sessions; her cherished niece, Audrey; her loving mother and stepfather, Marie and Larry Covington; her loving father and stepmom, Richard and Barbara Brannan; her caring and loving in-laws, Bob and Patty Smith, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her legacy of love, strength, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
