Barbara Kaufman Bennett

A longtime resident of the Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida area, Ms. Bennett originally hailed from Willimantic, Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her children Beth Adelman Reed, Peter Adelman, and Eric Adelman, as well as her beloved sister Kay Hale and brother Allen Kaufman. She was twice married. First to Mr. Murray Adelman and later to Mr. Jack Bennett. Ms. Bennett was employed for many years as an estate manager in Miami, Florida. She retired from her career and moved to Sarasota, FL in 2001 where she volunteered at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the education department. Barbara enjoyed traveling, frequently in the company of her sister, and did so for as long as she was physically able. She was also a supporter of the arts, often taking in a play, ballet, opera, or visiting museums both at home and in the locations she visited in her travels. Ms Bennett cherished her family above all and she would frequently travel to visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ms. Bennett is survived by her 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Ms. Barbara K. Bennett will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 @ 2pm at Bellingrath Gardens - 12401 CR 18, Theodore, AL 36582.
