Sharon Eyvonne Peer (nee Shaw), born in St. Louis, followed her heart to places that nurtured her soul. When Missouri’s unpredictable weather grew too cold, she sought warmth and sunshine in Texas then to her life-long dream in Florida. Like a fish out of water, she was drawn to every shore's edge —be it a pool, lake, river boating or the aqua blue oceans of the Florida Keys, she loved basking in the sun under swaying palm trees.
After recently returning to the land of her fathers, Sharon found she was on her journey home to the Glory Land where now she is resting with her Father in Heaven. She was surrounded by the love of friends and family for everyone of her last days.
A mother to many and friend to most, Sharon was both generous to and fiercely protective of people and causes: her family, friends, animals, veterans, politics, elders and a myriad of folks who wandered her way. Often putting her money where her mouth was, she was on a gazillion mailing lists becuase of the myriad of causes she supported The most commonly words used to describe her are generous, sweet, funny and full of compliments (and sometimes criticism ;-). She really was.
Sharon could be stubborn, but was willing to reconsider her beliefs. She held strong to her core values and convictions and took a stand for what was right when others were afraid of rocking the boat. Admirably, she stayed true to the just principles she believed in. Accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior softened her heart and sweetened her countenance and (in my opinion) was her crowning glory.
She loved to dance, entertain and celebrate with fabulous flair. Funny, feisty, and fashionable, she embraced her hair stylist career even in her last days -rollers, lipstick, manicured nails, jewelry, and of course sunglasses adorned her. May our Heavenly Father's light shine bright upon her because Sharon always wears her shades!
