Ron was born on July 22, 1939 in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated high school from Von Stueben High School in 1957. Ron and his father opened Weiss’ Tap and Liquor Store in Chicago in 1963 until they sold it in 1972. After a brief stint as a retail sales manager for Silverman’s, he then went into sales for Trane Home Comfort Center in Chicago. He was their top salesman year in and year out until that company closed its residential division. In July 1981, Ron moved from Chicago to St. Louis and started employment with Dierberg’s United Services, that later became Air Experts. That company closed due to the great flood of 1993 and then became a salesman for Nu View Windows. He retired as a shuttle driver for Dobb’s Tire and Auto.
Ron enjoyed bowling, and was rather good at it. He especially enjoyed watching St. Louis Rams football games, until they moved out of St. Louis, and then thoroughly enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs games with family and friends. He adored his children and grandchildren and loved being around his family. He was a very social person, made friends easily and enjoyed all of his friends’ company. Ron was a kind, gentle man, who was very generous with his time and money. He will be dearly missed by so many and will never be forgotten.
A memorial service for Ron will be held on February 22, 2025 at Green Trails United Methodist Church, 14237 Ladue Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017. Visitation with family begins at 10:30 and followed by the service at 11:00 am.
