A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Kevin graduated Parkway Central High School in 1979, where he started his pilot training. He then attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, and graduated from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Following college, he joined the United States Navy as a Naval Pilot officer. After proudly serving his country, Kevin applied his passion for flying in a unique Insurance Agency career, where his aircraft expertise addressed liability claims.
An avid airplane model enthusiast since the age of 6, Kevin’s collection spanned World Wars to Star Wars replicas. His hands-on craftsmanship made him a hero among his family, as they would often “just call Kevin'' for household repairs. His niece and nephews have many fond memories of his college care packages of delicious home baked goods and fun toys.
Kevin’s zest for life spanned family time, U.S. Military history, cooking and baking. He spent hours perfecting his replication of his father’s barbeque sauce, sharing and perfecting with feedback from his family, friends and neighbors. Kevin raised and passionately cared for his pet cats, Ping and Lindy. His cats provided endless pleasure and Kevin even taught them to catch and fetch.
Kevin’s vanity license plate of CAVU (Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited) conveyed his philosophy of limitless possibilities, or as his fellow pilots knew, an excellent day for flying.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Joseph C. Good. Kevin is survived by his mother, Edith Phillips Good and siblings, Terrance J. Good, Patricia Good, Susan Hanzlovic (Jack), Laura Laughlin (John), and nephews Richard Thornhill (Gillian), Christopher Good, John Laughlin, Steven Hanzlovic (Susan), Thomas Laughlin (Kyle), plus niece Katherine Laughlin.
His family wishes to express their gratitude for the boundless comforting care Kevin received from Missouri Baptist’s nurses, doctors, attendants, and hospice care team.
In lieu of flowers, Kevin’s family requested donations in his name to The Cat Network, www.catnetwork.org/donate, or your favorite charity.
A private service will be held to celebrate his life.
