George was born October 29, 1935 to the late Lawrence L Ulrich and Gertrude Wackman Ulrich in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Pasadena Park and graduated from Normandy High School. He attended Washington University. He worked at McDonnell-Douglas for 35 years where he was known as “the gun man”. His pride and joy was the F-15 and F-18 armament designs on both planes, obtaining a patent on a gun turret mount for the F-18. George was a councilman for Ward 4 in Black Jack, Missouri from 1971-1977. George married Carole Pugliese in 1955 and to them seven children were born, one predeceasing him. He married Virginia (Ginny) Kaufman Stack in December 1977 and he acquired five step-children.
George is predeceased by his daughter, Maria, wife, Ginny, his parents Lawrence and Gertrude and his brother Larry Ulrich Jr and sister Dolores Hensel. He is survived by his children with Carole Pugliese: Terrie (Mike) Hoehn, Laura Brickey, Donna (Rick) Robinson, Joe (Diane) Ulrich, Tina (Randy) LePage, and Thomas (Jaime) Ulrich. He is survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his five step-children from his marriage to Ginny Kaufman Stack: Cindy Vanetti, Jeff Stack, Greg Stack, Andrew Stack, and Alicia Morton.
He will be missed by his friends at McDonnell Douglas, his very special Sunday dinner ladies, and his Tuesday morning breakfast crew from his neighborhood. George was dearly loved and will be missed by those who knew him.
George is being interred at Our Lady Cemetery. No services are planned.
